One of the Senior Partners of our Law Firm, Dr. Rosa Teresa Meza Vásquez, was elected as Member of the Education Committee of this important International Organization that groups all the leaders in Medical Law around the world. We congratulate Dr. Meza and wish her success in her management.

For the sixth consecutive time, the Founding Partners of our Law Firm were present as the only accredited speakers from Peru at the 26th World Congress of Medical Law, organized by the World Association for Medical Law (WAML) in the city of Gold Coast, Australia.

Also, at the 26th World Congress of Medical Law, Dr Giancarlo Jiménez Bazán, Founding Partner of our Law Firm was chosen as presenter and moderator session 3 (part5) dedicated to Medicine and Technology,

During the 26th World Congress of Medical Law held in Gold Coast, Australia, the Assembly of members of the World Medical Law Association elected Dr. Rosa Teresa Meza Vásquez for the second consecutive term as a member of the Board of Governors period 2022-2026, also was elected by unanimous vote by the members of the Board of Governors as Vice-President for the American Continent, congratulations to Dr. Meza for this well deserved international recognition that confirms her high level of knowledge, preparation and status as an expert in Medical Law worldwide.

The Founding Partners of our Law Firm visited Bond University, in Australia, where they also attended a chamber music recital of the classical music orchestra, integrated by students and professors at the University.

A lawyer of our organization wrote an article for the Bulletin of the World Association of Medical Law corresponding to the quarter from September to November 2022. In that sense, Dr. Giancarlo Jiménez wrote the article Situation of Covid-19 in Peru, this edition of the Bulletin was dedicated to the situation of the Pandemic in the world.

During the Magisterial Conference of Dr. Severo Mercedes, from the Dominican Republic, held at the XII Latin American Congress of Medical Law, in Murcia, Spain, the dissertation of Professor Giancarlo Jiménez, Partner Lawyer of our Law Firm, was quoted during the Master of Medical Law of the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, mentioning the excellent definition elaborated by the lawyer of our staff about the Medical Act, which contributes to the International Doctrine of this matter.

In October 2022, Dr. Rosa Teresa Meza and Dr. Giancarlo Jiménez were invited as speakers representing Peru at the XII Latin American Congress of Medical Law, organized by the Spanish Branch of the Latin American Association of Medical Law whose president is Dr. Eduardo Osuna, the event was held in the city of Murcia, Spain.

The papers approved for dissertation of our lawyers for this event were: Current events and challenges in medical arbitration in Peru presented by Dr. Giancarlo Jiménez Bazán, Medical law in Latin America as well as the paper entitled “Questions in bio-law at the beginning of life”, both presented by Dr. Rosa Teresa Meza Vásquez.

The article “Teleconsultation in Peru during Covid-19: Reflections on its impact on the doctor-patient relationship” (pp. 180-195) written by our founding partners, Dr. Giancarlo Jiménez and Dr. Rosa Teresa Meza, was published on July 20, 2022 60. Rosa Teresa Meza, was published on July 31, 2022 by the Newton Paiva University of Belo Horizonte in Minas Gerais-Brazil, as part of the book “Impactos do Coronavírus no Direito: Diálogos, reflexões e perspectivas contemporaneas” Volume 2-2022, which is a collection based on a systematized and multidisciplinary international study from the perspectives of The Americas, Africa, Asia and Europe. The book can be consulted on the Amazon book and Google books platforms.

La Sede Chile de la Asociación Latinoamericana de Derecho Médico, en coorganización con el Estudio Meza & Jiménez Abogados y la Sede Perú de la Asociación Latinoamericana de Derecho Médico, realizó el 31 de marzo un webinar dirigido a profesionales de la salud y en especial a los que trabajan en el área de oncología pediátrica. Este evento internacional abordó el tema de “Decisiones parentales y la voz del niño en su propio tratamiento contra el cáncer”, el cual tocó puntos relevantes que deben conocer para acompañar a un menor de edad en su tratamiento contra el cáncer.
