During 2016, Meza & Jiménez Abogados, as the first Legal Boutique specialized in Medical Law in our Country, sponsored in Lima and provinces, the 7 academic events in Medical Law held in Peru, which were part of the celebratory events for the 20th anniversary of the prestigious International Organization, Latin American Association of Medical Law – ASOLADEME, leader in our continent in that area of Law,
Likewise, in August and October 2016, lawyers of our Law Firm, participated as Lecturers in the 2 largest and most recognized academic events in the area of Medical Law in the world.
The first event was the 22nd World Congress of Medical Law that took place in Los Angeles – United States, where our lawyers were the only Peruvians who participated as Speakers for our country. In this international platform, our lawyers spoke on “Patient Safety across Advance Directives: Peru context and implementation proposals” and “Informed Consent and Quality of Patient Care in Peru”.
Likewise, the founding partners of our Law Firm were the only Peruvians to be invited to the reception ceremony of “An Evening with Dr. Thomas Noguchi”, the living legend of World Medical Law, known as the “coroner of the stars”, who performed the autopsy on Marilyn Monroe, Robert F. Kennedy, Sharon Tate and other victims of the Tate-LaBianca murders, Albert Dekker, Janis Joplin, Gia Scala, William Holden, Natalie Wood, and John Belushi, among others, who received a tribute in honor of his great professional career by the Los Angeles County Medical Association.
The second event was the X Latin American Congress of Medical Law held in San José, Costa Rica, where again our lawyers were the only representatives of Peru as exhibitors in this international academic activity. On that occasion, our lawyers lectured on “Living Will and Palliative Care”, as well as on “Informed Consent vs. Mediatization of Medical Cases”.
Our Law Firm sponsored all the scientific and academic events organized by the Latin American Association of Medical Law at national level to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of its creation.
